Otto Gleichmann studierte an den Akademien in Düsseldorf, Breslau und Weimar. er lehrte in Erfurt und Hannover. Bekanntschaft mit Klee und Kandinsky. Viele seiner Werke hängen in deutschen Museen, u. a. im Sprengel-Museum Hannover.
